Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #36 Fall Mood Board | Watercolour Pumpkin Spice Latte

by - Friday, September 14, 2018

I think the deadline is tomorrow for this challenge; so please get your entries in!!

I'm just going to get right into the tutorial.

I wet a piece of distress watercolour paper and dabbed oranges, yellows and browns to make a splash effect. The 1st layer is usually light after drying so, I repeated it again but this time I added metallic copper splatters so it can disperse into the paint. Using a wet on wet technique allows for the colours to blend beautifully. After completely drying, I stamped the leaf image ink the background with delicate copper ink; some leaves were stamped with second generation ink.

I stamped the mug from Thanks A Latte onto watercolour paper and painted it cream. Next, I stamped the words Fall using Milo's ABC's in the centre of the mug. My latest obsession is Rae Dun mugs, but here in the UK I can't find the fall themed ones. So this will have to do. I then painted the liquid as if it was splashing out of the mug.

After, I fussy cut around the mug and liquid and glued it onto the watercoloured panel. I added copper sequins onto the background and stamped the sentiment below the mug.

Taking a 5x7" kraft card base, I repeatedly die cut the Stitched Borders dies onto the base. I haven't taken these dies apart so it makes it as I don't have to worry about lining it up.

My card panel is 5.75 x 4.5 so the kraft base will frame this piece very nicely and you get to see the stitched details all around.

This is my card complete! I have one more card that I have made, so I'll be back for one more entry.

thank you for stopping by!

see you in my next post x
