Introduction to Color Theory | Day 1: Primary, Secondary, Tertiary colours and a colour wheel

Debby Hughes has an online class over on Online Card Classes and as you all have seen, she is an amazing cardmaker with a breathtaking eye for colour. Her watercolouring - always leaves me without words.  So when she came out with this class, I enrolled right away!

This is the colour wheel I made using Gansai Tambi paints and the paper was by Crafters Companion.

Each class has homework where we take what we have learned and turn it into a card.

Here are the two cards I made for the class.

The first card was made using Wplus9 Folk Art Flurries stamp set and I used only 3 primary colours. The inks I used were Hero Arts Bold hybrid ink.

The sentiment came from Clearly Besotted, Simple Sentiments stamp set.

The second card I wanted to try Jennifer McGuires ink layering technique so again using only 3 primary colours (ok and a purple) I made this birthday card with the balloons in the colours found in the colour wheel. The 2nd last balloon I couldn't get the layering right so in the end for the last balloon I used a purple ink.

Balloons and sentiments came from Simon Says Stamp, It's No Secret stamp set.

That's my homework :) Thank you for stopping by!
