Ramadhan 1439 | ideas and announcements
Assalaamu 'alaykum (peace be upon you)!
Well, Ramadhan is soon upon us and our hearts yearn to welcome it. It only seems like yesterday where we witnessed last years Ramadhan - oh how the time flies.
For the past 7 years, I have been making Ramadhan big for my family, in terms of decoration and activities. I've noticed that we have fallen into the rut of focusing on the food; sometimes even breaking our fasts whilst still standing and cooking the last batch of samosas! Ramadhan is not a month of food but a month of growth, discipline and reviving.
More importantly, I've noticed that there was hardly any effort of providing excitement for the children and hyping them up prior to its blessed arrival.
Ramadhan is oh so beautiful with the lessons it holds for us and the feeling that it spreads. For me, there's a shift in the air and tears well up when the moon is sighted the night before. Everyone calls each other and the night prayers begin - it's a sweet moment.
This is why I wanted to share this idea I have had for months now and that is to...document Ramadhan.
You can do it daily and record the things you do each day with your family; your routine, places you've been, books you've read etc. or document the big moments like; 1st day of Ramadhan, where you prayed Taraweeh or broke your fast, a memorable activity you did, an ayah that stuck with you.
There are many options for where to do this in:
- scrapbook album
- journal
- project life album
- travelers notebook
- planner
Take photos, print them out and stick them or don't take photos if you'd rather prefer to just write.
Honestly, all I want is for us to not forget our Ramadhans, to have something physical we can look back at and cherish.
With that said, my second announcement is that I would be creating my own printables for this years Ramadhan and sharing them with you. This Ramadhan, my decorating theme is florals and will be using that theme throughout my printables. for free of course!
What to expect, insha'Allaah (God willing):
- countdown calendars
- welcome Ramadhan frame inserts
- bucket list
- bookmarks
and many more...
I am so excited for this project and I welcome you all to participate. So much fun stuff coming your way, I promise.
until next post, bye!
