Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #33 Fun Folds | Thanks Teacher envelope card
Hi all!
I want to share with you the thank you card I made for my little sisters teacher for the end of year. What I realised was that I could also use this as an entry for the Lawn Fawnatics fun fold challenge!
I love how this turned out and it's a lovely way to present a gift card to any teacher.
The 2 main products I used for this project is the Good Apple stamp set, an oldie but a wonderful stamp set, and the stitched heart envelope die. The moment that I saw this die when it came out for Valentines I bought it straight away!
What it does is it cuts out a large heart with scored lines which allows you to turn it into an envelope. along with it you receive a note card die which you can stick on the front of the finished envelope or use it as an insert to write a note.
How cool huh?!
To start, I took the chalkboard stamp and white heat embossed it onto some black card stock. You can use any; I bought mine from Poundland and it is a very good quality card.
I then die cut out the board with its coordinating die.
Taking the sentiment Thanks Teacher, I also heat embossed that with white embossing powder. For a chalky looking effect on the chalkboard, I took my embossing tool/buddy/bag (the one that removes static) and powder over the black card. This makes it look like the chalkboard has been thoroughly used. If you don't have this tool, you can always use baby powder or this is bit extreme but a sprinkling of flour ;)
With red card, I die cut the stitched heart envelope and folded it over to form the envelope. I made sure to go over the edges with a bone folder or ruler to make sure I got crisp edges. Next, I stamped the apple, ruler, chalk eraser and chalk in copic-friendly ink and coloured them in with spectruim noir and then fussy cut them out.
I then die cut the pretty notecard from the die set in white to attach to the inside of the card. On this I stamped the sentiment You Rule in black ink.
Now to assemble, I glued the black chalk board to the front of the folded envelope.
On top of it, I added the apple, chalk and chalkboard eraser with foam squares for a little bit of dimension and the ruler I glued inside over the you rule sentiment. I mean, where else right? I just love puns.
All that is left is to add the gift card or it's good enough as it is for a simple fold out card. And the envelope is complete. To seal it, I used a butterfly sticker but you can always die cut the heart from the set and this will make the perfect seal as well.
Thank you for stopping by and having a look, bye!
